My Story

I am taking on the London Marathon in 2023, fundraising for Maggie's.

Maggie's has over 25 years of experience providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, the centres are warm and welcoming, and are run by expert staff who help people live well with cancer. 1 in 2 people in the UK will get cancer in their lifetime, and Maggie's centres across the country have over 245,000 visits each year.

These vital funds raised by Barclays colleagues will help Maggie's roll out a new programme called Cancer in Later Life - offering thousands of sessions of practical and emotional support to older people with cancer across Scotland. There is an urgent need for this: nearly two thirds of cancer diagnoses occur in the over 65s and over one third of the people seen at Maggie’s right now are in this group.
