My Story

I'm taking part in Maggie's Gran Fondo to support people like Calum.

During their twelve years together, cycling would allow Calum and Janos to explore countries, learn skills, and be adventurous together. After Janos's cancer diagnosis, it became a way to get to the hospital and Maggie's. Their visits to Maggie's would give them advice, expertise and time to process the changes that were happening. In the time since Janos's death, cycling has become Calum's way to feel close to Janos again.

We know physical activity can help us feel connected to people, places and ourselves. Calum is one of many Maggie's visitors who've found the power of the bike. By fundraising for Maggie's, you are enabling us to build more centres across the UK, so we can reach more people like Calum and Janos when cancer turns life upside down.
